Nelson Community Panel – New funding recomendations

Hello everyone following on from the last panel meeting there have been two funding recommendations.

After much discussion within the panel it was decided to award £750.00 to the Stamshaw Birthday Project – the school will be 114 years old next year.  This brings together young people and older people in the community.  Offering new experiences of visiting the history of the school and surrounding area,  improving the culture of the area through intergenerational work.

It has been agreed to recommend that we support Buckland Crafters through paying their rent whilst they get on their feet, bringing different parts of the community within the ward closer together through craft activity.

Thank you to everyone that has applied for funding.

Panel update from 11th April panel meeting

The panel looked over the minutes and agreed them.

The panel has received 3 applications this time. Each applications raised questions, so further investigations have to take place before decisions can be made.

Allocated funding available this year has to be confirmed with CDF before grants can be agreed at the next panel meeting.  When all questions have been answered by applicants we will have greater clarity and hope to be in a position to make further decisions at the next panel meeting 2nd May 2013.

The Nelson Community Panel Action Plan has been sent to the Community Development Foundation.  We are now looking at the actions needed to take the plan forward.

Updates for the Nelson Community Panel

Hello everyone just to let you all know we have spent all of the money for 2012/2013 financial year.  We had so many applications we had to ask for some of next years budget to cover them and sadly disappoint some.

However we are going to be considering new applications from April again.  So keep them coming in and we will consider them all on their merits and whether they meet  our priorities.

In case you are unsure these are included on the application form which you can download.

Next deadline for applications is now midnight a week prior to the next meeting.
